Transit Engineer (senior / lead) - Midlands - 3-6 months - 4 day week / Flexible working hours - the role will involve the following - Review documents from suppliers -Take documentation and use them to produce integrated operational designs - Produce test specifications - Deal with protection - Experience working with dc traction substations - Consideration would be given to someone who had worked with ac traction with experience of some of the equipment within a substation.

The products involve dc traction substations, which comprise, AC switchgear, DC switchgear, rectifiers and their associated transformers, auxiliary transformers, LV switchboards, battery chargers, UPS's.

You will ideally come from a DC traction background, alternatively people with experience of railway traction (AC), DNO experience or companies supplying the DNOs with substations, or engineers with detailed understanding of one of the items of equipment required in a substation.
